Job DescriptionRate of Pay: $23.00 - $32.96Summary:Perform routine general maintenance and repair functions within approved guidelines and as directed. Colleague may achieve this level based on the successful completion of accredited courses resulting in a commercial and/or professional certification in HVAC/R. Has knowledge of common and advanced concepts, practices and procedures within the HVAC/R field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • All colleagues are obligated to support and uphold the Fairmont Grand Del Mar's standards of excellence as outlined in the Fairmont Grand Del Mar's Colleague Handbook.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times, resolving guest complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction. Greet guests in a courteous and caring manner using Forbes standards of service.
  • Responsible for routine general maintenance and repair of HVAC/R field as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure adherence to all OSHA regulations and internal safety policies and procedures.
  • Operates company vehicles as required.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on all equipment as assigned.
  • Supports other Engineers as needed.
  • Responsible for conducting all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Update records associated with refrigerant usage as required by EPA.
  • Ensure cleanliness in assigned work spaces.
  • Maintain an adequate stock of parts and ensure cleanliness in assigned spaces.
  • Adherence to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safety precautions.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
    QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Technically Certified in HVAC/R field.
    • Three years of verifiable experience in a commercial HVAC related field of trade or equivalent experience.
    • Ability to read Engineering drawings and technical literature.
    • Universal refrigerant certificate as required by the EPA.
    • Journeyman certification preferred.
    • Must be able to read Engineering drawings and technical literature.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure and technical manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or colleagues.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to interpret anextensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Must be able to successfully pass applicable skill testing.
    • Material Handling Equipment certification as required.
    • Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record may be required.
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications:
      • Previous experience working in a luxury hotel resort environment.
