Host Job Description
As the first point of contact for guests, the Host plays a vital role in setting the tone for a memorable dining experience at Florence Osteria.
Greet guests warmly and make them feel welcome, escorting them to their tables and presenting menus with a smile.Use your excellent communication skills to engage with guests, answer questions, and ensure their needs are met throughout their visit.Monitor the flow of guests and manage seating to ensure a smooth and efficient dining experience.Assist with taking reservations, answering phone calls, and responding to guest inquiries in a timely and friendly manner.Work closely with the management team to optimize seating and ensure even workload for wait staff.Perform opening and closing duties, as well as light housekeeping tasks to ensure the restaurant is clean and welcoming.Maintain a positive attitude and provide exceptional customer service, even in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
Proven experience as a host in a full-service restaurantGood understanding of restaurant health and safety regulationsHigh school diploma or GEDStrong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management skillsAvailability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidaysExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitudeAbility to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
