every day.Position Overview:The Senior System Administrator is
responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and
day-to-day operations of computing and networking infrastructure
across multiple locations, both on-premises and cloud-based. This
role plays a key part in developing and executing IT strategies
that align with business objectives and company technology goals.
The Senior System Administrator oversees new initiatives from
design to implementation and ensures proper documentation,
operation, and maintenance of existing solutions.Key
Responsibilities:Administration and Maintenance of Hybrid
Enterprise Server and Network Infrastructure
- Manage both on-premises and cloud-based corporate networking
infrastructure.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of network servers, from design
and implementation to retirement.
- Ensure proper management policies are applied to all server
instances.
- Administer and maintain on-site data storage systems.
- Manage and maintain the on-site VMware virtualization
platform.
- Configure, maintain, upgrade, and replace corporate firewalls,
access switches, and routers.
- Design, maintain, and monitor infrastructure health dashboards
for servers, internet connectivity, and cloud services.
- Monitor and manage all company ISP connections.
- Plan and implement feature and OS upgrades for Windows and
Linux servers.
- Securely configure and manage company DNS services.Active
Directory, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID Services
- Administer Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID
in collaboration with Information Security and Enterprise
Applications teams.
- Design and maintain all aspects of Microsoft Active Directory,
including domain controllers, AD Entra Connect, and third-party
integrations.
- Monitor, audit, and alert on administrative changes in Active
Directory (e.g., group membership changes, group creation/deletion,
privilege escalation).Other Responsibilities:
- Coordinate changes to Okta Single Sign-On with the Information
Security team.
- Design and maintain Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) for the
organization.
- Design and administer the company's data backup and restoration
platform.
- Assist the Director of IT Service and Support with SOX audit
tasks, including preparation of audit materials and facilitating
walk-throughs for in-scope systems and platforms.
- Review and remediate security vulnerabilities related to server
and network infrastructure.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues
raised by the Service Desk and Information Security teams.
- Provide occasional after-hours or weekend support as
needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth expertise in managing Windows-based server and desktop
operating systems.
- Proficient in Cisco and Meraki networking and
telecommunications platforms.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure (multi-geo
experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of core networking concepts, including
Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Expertise in storage and storage networking technologies.
- Skilled in managing Office 365 and enterprise email
architecture.
- Proficient in scripting/programming for automation and remote
administration, with Microsoft PowerShell required.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage tasks independently.Education and
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar
role.
- At least 5 years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows
desktop and server operating systems.
- Proven experience in implementing cybersecurity best
practices.What you will get in return:The hourly rate for this role
is in the range of $41.44 - $64.57 ($86,211 - $134,310). You may be
eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual
discretionary stock award, (dependent on date of hire) to be
discussed during the initial phone interview. Base salary and total
compensation package are determined by the candidate's experience,
knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well
as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market
